Green Shuttle was formed in 2006 when Dean Athenas, arrived on Vineyard Haven to meet a friend and all the taxis and shuttle buses were sitting idle to keep warm while waiting for fares. He turned his friend John and said, "This is ridiculous. Why aren't all these cars hybrids?" Right then and there Green Shuttle was born.
The next week they purchased their first green vehicle and started the Green Shuttle service. Since then others have followed suit and Dean now estimates that as many as 30% of shuttle vehicles have been converted to hybrid, bio or flex fuel vehicles. But, Green Shuttle was the first all hybrid and bio-diesel transportation fleet in the area.
Besides the environmentally friendly vehicles, all of Green Shuttles fleet are mobile hot spots and come with complimentary ipads so riders can relax, surf the web, check email and flight updates on their way to the airport.
They offer no surprises, their rates are always consistent regardless of time of year or time of day. They also provide and easy pick up booking from their website. There are no fees for a change in pick up and they pride themselves on giving their customers the best experience, each and every time.
